Nokia N78 'multimedia computer' comes to India
Nokia's much-awaited N78 mobile phone, positioned as a 'multimedia computer,' has finally arrived in India. And Nokia fans can rejoice, for this mobile phone comes loaded with features that will make multimedia phones of rival companies turn green with envy.
Nokia N78 features WLAN, HSDPA and a 3.5G wireless connectivity that makes sure the user can access the internet at blazing speed without having the need to connect the mobile phone to anything else.
The Bluetooth 2.0 and USB connectivity make transferring data to and from the phone easy.
While the phone has an onboard data storage capacity of 70MB, it also features a microSD card slot that allows the user to expand the capacity to 8GB.
Besides the standard multimedia features like FM Radio and MP3 Player, N78 also features 2.4 inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT color display screen, 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss lens, 3.5 mm headphones and a GPS system with pre-loaded maps of eight Indian cities and 3 months navigation license.
Nokia N78 also boasts of a unique application called the 'Location Tagger,' which automatically attaches location information to an image and allows the user to save images by date in addition to geographical coordinates.
This application will particularly enhance the experience of using the GPS and Nokia Maps, Vineet Taneja, Nokia India's Go-To-India.
"The Nokia N78 carries forward the Nokia N-Series legacy of superior technology combined with a sleek form factor and truly lives up to the N-Series promise of delivering unparalleled mobile multimedia experience with latest technologies and services. It is sure to appeal to consumers who appreciate style and technology in a single compact device," Taneja said.
"N78 features location tagging, which merges camera functionality and A-GPS to not only share pictures but also the places where they were taken," he said.
"We are looking at the next generation of Internet that has evolved towards social networking or Web 2.0 where people can participate and share their experiences through communities such as Facebook and Flickr," he added.
