Fujitsu unveils new waterproof mobile phone F706i
For those who are thinking of making (or answering) a call underwater (just kidding!), Fujitsu's got just the perfect thing - a new waterproof mobile phone called F706i.
The clamshell-type F706i mobile phone, which weighs only 137 grams, can withstand water pressure up to 6 meters and also enables the user to view mobile television underwater.
The 2.7-inch screen, claims Japan's leading electronics maker, will give the user a superior viewing experience.
A full web browser function, 2-megapixel camera and a Micro SDHC card slot makes F706i a multimedia phone.
F706i also supports most of the popular audio and video playback formats as well as HSDPA connectivity, which means that the user can access the internet at blazing speed without having the need to connect the mobile phone to anything else.
For the time being, the phone, which is an upgrade to the previous waterproof model F703i from Fujitsu, will be sold only in Japan, and depending on market response, will be introduced in markets in Europe and Asia.
Fujitsu's 706i series comes in 11 models (one of which is F706i) with varying technical specifications.
