Samsung unveils the 'Guru' of mobile phones: Guru 200

After launching the simple, down-to-basic with a few fringes handset Guru 100 in February this year, Samsung has now unveiled its successor Guru 200.

The new phone offers FM recording of up to 5 minutes as a new feature in the entry-level segment. The users can use their recordings as alarm alerts or ringtones. It comes with MP3 ring tones and a mobile tracker as well making it an absolute value-for-money handset.

Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Telecommunications India, said, "Our Guru 200 offers a strong value proposition to consumers at the entry level mobile phone segment. True to our 'Next is What' Campaign, this Phone offers FM recording as the 'Next' key feature in its latest Guru series of handsets."

The candybar phone offers a 128 x 128 pixel CSTN display with 65K colors, dual-band GSM connectivity (900 and 1800 MHz), Java MIDP 2.0, MMS and SMS capabilities, predictive text input and handsfree.

Weighing only 80 grams and measuring 104 x 44.5 x 16 millimeters, the new Samsung includes a 1000 mAh battery capable of providing up to 9 hours in talk-time mode and up to 450 hours in stand-by mode.

This Dual Band phone comes equipped with some unique features like Indian calendar that displays local holidays, Hing-lish database and call time limit to allow users personally set a talk time limit per month.

Together with that it also packs in pre-loaded Bollywood ringtones, Java Games like Cricket and Sudoku as well as Emergency SMS feature and a speakerphone as well.

The sleek and stylish bar phone is available for Rs.2,999 in retail stores now.
